To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the biggest war and the biggest victory
in our country’s history we have created a special hand engraved piece – The
World War II Victory Edition Model 1908.
Each of these pistols is an original, made between 1908 and before the end of
World War II and is custom finished with the following deluxe features:
- Each is custom mirror polished by experienced firearms polishers.
- Hand engraving, using the hammer and chisel method, covers the pistol with
beautiful scrolls and historical inscriptions.
- The engraving is historically correct for this era and type of pistol.
- Hand engraved across the left side of the slide is “World War II Victory”
in beautiful script typeface of the style used on presentation pieces (such as a
ship’s silver service) of that period.
- Underneath that is hand engraved the date, in Roman numerals, 1945 – the
year of Victory!
- Flanking the date is the Morse Code symbol (dot-dot-dash) for “V,” for
“Victory.”
- The Morse Code device (dot-dot-dash) for “V” is also hand engraved on both
sides of the front of the frame.
- The “V” for Victory is inconspicuously engraved on both sides of the
triggerguard where it gracefully meets the frame in a “V”-shaped junction.
- Even the safety lever is hand engraved.
- The grips are custom made of genuine Mother-of-Pearl. This material has
become quite rare and difficult to get, and it brings a great premium. Genuine
Mother-of-Pearl grips are associated with the best hand engraved Colt .25 Autos
that occasionally came out of the Colt factory.
- Each is completely plated with 24-Karat Gold for lasting beauty and value.
- Even the six-shot magazine is plated, en suite, with 24-Karat Gold.
Collector Edition – “One of 60”
With only 60 pieces being made, this is one of the most collectible firearms
in the history of arms collecting – especially considering the victory it
honors!
Museum Edition – “One of 10”
(The Museum Edition is currently sold out. Please contact our Member
Relations staff to inquire about other museum edition firearms.)
The Museum Edition “One of 10” is a really spectacular showpiece – perhaps
the best example of this model, ever! Here are the details:

- The Morse Code symbol to the right and left of the date.

- The factory-marked inscription on the right side of the slide, “Colt
Automatic Calibre .25.”
- The Morse Code symbols for “V” on both sides of the frame.

high-gloss black.
- The safety, trigger and grip screw are plated with 24-Karat Gold for
lasting beauty and value.

Across the top of the coin reads, “Liberty,” which is what our sacrifices in the
war helped bring to many oppressed people around the world.
