The General George S. Patton®, Jr. .45 Pistol
- Museum Edition

Not since Napoleon had the world seen a warrior the likes of General George Smith Patton, Jr. With irrepressible personality, presence and persistence, “Old Blood and Guts” wrote the book on armored warfare and earned the adoration as, most say, the best American field general of World War II. Consider alone, his record-breaking push across France, the Bulge, and into the German heartland, where he led the conquering of more than 1,000,000 enemy soldiers, 82,000 square miles and 1,500 towns and cities! In his unique, confidence-inspiring style, he showed his troops he was a fighter and always at the front. And it was his flashy sidearms that helped him project his warrior spirit with high visibility to his men on the battlefield.
The Foundation is pleased to bring you the General George S. Patton®, Jr. .45 Limited Edition. Like his original Colt, it features the flat, mainspring housing and long trigger. Also like the General’s, this custom-decorated .45 features his “trademark” intertwined initials in scrimshaw along the grips. Because General Patton was one of our most famous military leaders, a piece of this quality pertaining to him is of great interest and is highly collectible. For this special Limited Edition, historically-correct engraving patterns, which he chose for his Colt® Single Action Army™, were adapted to enhance the beauty and the importance of the piece. And, to accentuate the visibility of the considerable detail, your Colt .45 pistol is either Sterling Silver plated or Deluxe Nickel plated, depending upon your choice of the two different editions.
The detail is completely hand engraved, using the time-honored hammer-and-chisel method. Engraving on this museum-quality piece beautifully enhances both sides of the frame and both sides of the slide. The presentation side features hand engraving of the General’s four stars, a device he frequently used for his personal symbol. His distinctive signature is hand engraved on the reverse of the slide in a panel ensconced in elaborate scroll engraving. Even both sides of the trigger and hammer are covered with genuine hand engraving, as are the slide stop, safety switch and four grip screws. All surfaces are polished by experienced gun polishers to a mirror finish and plated with genuine Sterling Silver to Jewelers Grade-Heavy thickness, for lasting beauty and value. Each is engraved with it’s own Limited Edition Registry Number from P001M to P250M, with the “P” for “Patton” and the “M” for “Museum Edition.”
The plating is beautiful, show-quality, Hard Nickel, a finish that withstands repeated firing and holster wear and is universally admired for its rugged beauty. On both sides of the slide, the considerable detail of the hand engraving of the Museum Edition is captured and transferred using deep, bas-relief, acid etching, rather than hand engraving. All other components are custom polished—skillfully, individually worked to a deluxe mirror finish and plated with high-gloss Hard Nickel. Each Collector Edition is engraved with its own Limited Edition Registry Number between P001C and P750C, with the prefix for “Patton” and the suffix for “Collector.”
Also available is a custom made, luxuriously lined Display Case with locking glass lid and engraved identification plaque to display and protect your Tribute from dust and unauthorized handling.
