The Browning Hi-Power proved itself the hard way—in the crucible of combat over the past 60+ years in every theater of operation around the world—and so successfully it became (and still is) the military-issue sidearm in dozens of prominent armed forces. Birthed in battle in World War II, it was the only sidearm to fight on both sides—in the hands of the Allies and the Nazis who liked it, too—which was one reason they overran Belgium and captured the Fabrique Nationale (FN) factory. To arrive at his Hi-Power, his final pistol patent, John M. Browning started with his famous M1911A1 .45 and product improved it with simplified takedown, fewer parts and a double-stack/staggered magazine for more firepower. Chambered in 9mm, and because of its combat record, its been known for decades as “the King of Nines”.
Now, as the 20th Century draws to a close and we reflect on its defining event, World War II, The American Historical Foundation and Browning Arms proudly announce a firing Limited Edition Browning Hi-Power pistol to honor World War II and the generation who fought it. This is issued in a strictly limited edition of only 500 worldwide, your immediate guarantee of historical and collector value.
This is the world’s first military commemorative Browning Hi-Power; the “first ever” class of distinction has seen well-documented prices increases. Each is engraved with a special Registry Number between WWII 001 and WWII 500, which also appears on the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
This is a genuine, firing “Belgian Browning” produced by Fabrique Nationale (FN), known for their uncompromising quality. Like its military counterpart of World War II fame, this deluxe edition is a battleworthy firearm. However, each receives many extra hours of special museum-quality finishing by some of the finest gunsmiths in the world.
A mere glance of it from across the room catches your eye; this is no ordinary firearm. The real pride of ownership comes when you display it close-up. The custom mirror-polished surfaces gleam as they portray deeply etched memorial inscriptions and scrollwork panoplies. The frame, slide, controls and screws are richly plated with genuine 24-Karat Gold to Jewelers Grade-Heavy thickness, for lasting beauty and value. Even the cleaning rod, also included is plated, en suite, with 24-Karat Gold. The checkered walnut grips exhibit a commemorative cloisonné of the “V” (and Morse Code symbol) for “Victory.”
But this is not just a showpiece. It is a firing Browning 9mm Hi-Power which could be called upon to defend your home and family; two magazines are included.
Also available is a custom made, luxuriously lined Display Case with locking glass lid and engraved identification plaque to display and protect your Tribute from dust and unauthorized handling.
