U.S. Marine Corps Limited Edition Combat Shotgun

We‘ve used shotguns in all our major wars since the American Revolution, including the Iraqi War. But it wasn’t until 1898 that the U. S. military officially issued a shotgun to our troops—the Winchester Model 1897 12-Gauge Shotgun, designed by John M. Browning, himself. During World War I, Dough Boys and Devil Dogs found this reliable pump scattergun so effective at clearing enemy trenches it was named the “Trench Gun”. The Model 97 added glory to its name, in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War, having been used by all of our armed forces service branches And, it’s battle-proven design is so good, Model 97’s are still found in some U.S. arms rooms, today.

A “First” in Arms Collecting!

The American Historical Foundation proudly brings you the world’s first Combat Shotgun tribute to each of our armed forces. “Firsts” are, typically, of great interest to collectors, and this should add even greater attraction to this Armed Forces Combat Shotgun Limited Edition. You may have military sidearms and rifles in your collection—but what about a military shotgun? No collection could be complete without one! Here’s the chance to fill that hole with a firing Limited Edition of “the most famous...slide-action fighting shotgun ever produced”—the Model 97.

One for Each of Our Armed Forces

Four different Limited Edition shotguns—one for each of our armed forces—are available. Each has different embellishments, case liner colors and Registry Number prefixes appropriate to the individual service branch honored.

Custom Gunsmithing

Each is custom gunsmithed with these special features:

Fires 12-Gauge

Your Model 97 Combat Shotgun, per military specs, fires 2-3/4" 12 gauge, with the 5–round tubular magazine and the cylinder-bore barrel. Like the military-issued, slam-fire-designed original, you can hold back the trigger as you repeatedly cycle the action—rolling thunder—almost like full auto! And, it is “probably the fastest reloading, tubular magazine shotgun bar none” (per Shotgun News). As domestic production of the Model 97 ceased in 1957, this is internationally sourced and custom gunsmithed in the U.S. This Combat Shotgun is issued in a strictly limited edition of only 1,200 (reminiscent of its 12 gauge) per service branch, and each is engraved with its own Limited Edition Registry Number, with the prefix “USA”, “USN”, “USMC”, or “USAF”, depending on the service branch honored. This Registry Number is also inscribed on the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity, which also confirms the edition limit and the purity and thickness of the 24-Karat Gold plating.

Display Case

A custom-built, luxuriously lined Display Case with engraved identification plaque is available. Includes locking glass lid to protect your firearm from dust and unauthorized handling.  Suitable for wall mount or tabletop display.
